Hold Your Breath...

Sitting comfortably with your feet placed firmly on the ground place your hands lightly across your tummy.

Imagine you are about to blow a balloon up in your tummy!

  1. Breathe in deeply for a count of 4 - feel your tummy push against your hands as if the balloon is opening…

  2. Hold for a count of four.

  3. Release for a count of four - noting the tummy fall. Repeat steps 1-3

  4. As you grow familiar with the technique extend the release time to a count of five then six, and seven. Counting at an even pace.

Note the changes in your body and aim to incorporate this calming exercise several times a day.

Remember it is impossible to panic and remain calm at the same time!
